Laura Theodore is an award-winning television personality and actor, radio host, author, and award-winning jazz singer. Laura is the on-camera host of the highly successful, award-winning Jazzy Vegetarian lifestyle series seen each season by 20 million viewers on public television, and now entering into its sixth season. Ms. Theodore hosts the weekly podcast radio show, Jazzy Vegetarian Radio, now in it’s 8th year.
As a singer and songwriter, Laura has recorded six solo CDs, including her award-winning disc, “Tonight’s the Night,” which received a Musician Magazine Award. Her CD of Peggy Lee material (recorded with the late, great Joe Beck) entitled Golden Earrings, received a Grammy nod in the category of “Best Jazz Vocal Album.” Laura has toured throughout the country, performing at numerous major events, such as Night of 100 Stars, Fire and Ice Ball, and The American Film Awards.
Ms. Theodore has appeared in over sixty plays and musicals and has received awards for her performances in the hit show Beehive (Backstage Bistro Award, Best Actress in a Musical Variety Show), and for her portrayal of Janis Joplin in the world premiere production of Love, Janis(Denver Critics Drama Circle Award, Best Actress in a Musical).
On film, Laura is featured in the new feature documentary, Food Choices. Laura has made guest appearances on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and USA and she was recently featured on The Talk on CBS, Insider/Entertainment Tonight (HBO Red Carpet) News 4-NBC, Fox News 8, Better TV, and WCBS Radio. Laura is a regular contributor to Mother Earth Living and has been featured in the New York Times, New York Daily News, VegNews, Family Circle, Readers Digest, PBS Food,and Naked Food, among many others.
Ms. Theodore is author of three cookbooks; Jazzy Vegetarian, Jazzy Vegetarian Classics andVegan-Ease. In 2016, Laura Theodore/Jazzy Vegetarian was winner of a Taste Award “Best Health and Fitness Program (Food and Diet)” and officially inducted into the Taste Awards Hall of Fame.
